Opener Maintenance

Garage Door Openers in New JerseyThe process should cover all features of the opener system. The safety sensors require testing every three months. The primary test involves setting an object that blocks the infrared beam while the door is open. When the door is closed with the remote, it shouldn’t move from its position. If it starts closing normally and continues its way down, the sensors should be fixed or replaced. The test for the garage door opener’s closing force is similar, but has to be done twice a year. The object set under the door must not block the beam. When the door touches it while closing, it should reverse immediately. If the door hits the object hard, the force should be adjusted. The drive chain or rod of the opener requires lubrication. Even belt drive systems require a bit of lubricant in the sections where there is friction between the trolley and the rail.

Motor Repair

The motor works, but there is a grinding noise and door stays closed. This is typically due to broken moving gear found inside the main unit. It has to be replaced right away. When the motor is silent, it is important to confirm that all controls cannot start it. The next step involves checking the power. If the issue is due to twisted or cut cord, a new cord should help to resolve the problem completely. If the check confirms that the motor has failed, it should be repaired or replaced depending on how bad the problem is. In rare cases, the motor is fine, but the circuit board is faulty and will need to be replaced.
